Fire Station Tour

I organized a tour of our local fire station for my MOMS club. It was very interesting. Did you know that the gear that the fire fighters wear weighs between 60 and 80 lbs and costs about $1500? Also, the top 2 injuries for fire fighters are back injuries and heart attacks. They have a workout room at the station and must work out daily. We got to see their living areas, kitchen and where they sleep. They even had a dalmation living there named Ember. Very cool!

Fire Fighter Steve showed the kids all of his gear and how he looks once its on so they would understand that even though they look a little scary - its really just a man under the mask and big coat.
